Beer on TV

From http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/

The Apprentice on BBC 1 yesterday featured a task for the 2 teams to design, brew and sell a new beer. Banks's Brewery was where the initial work was done and the teams went to the St. Albans Beer Festival and The Craft Beer Company (http://thecraftbeerco.com/) - amongst others - to sell their draught and bottled beers.

Interesting names for the beers - Rhubarb & Riches and A Bitter This (a chocolate and orange brew).

At the St. Albans Festival, cash - not tokens - was being tendered, and they were trying to sell it at £4 per pint, which apparently was twice the price of their competitors. The programme is available to view on the BBC iPlayer at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01sfh3g/The_Apprentice_Series_9_Beer/

James Watt of Brewdog also appeared on the The Apprentice: You're Fired, which can be seen at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01sfjnv/The_Apprentice_Youre_Fired_Series_9_Episode_2/

I also spotted a feature on the Hairy Bikers programme when they were touring Kent and went to Shepherd Neame's Brewery. Watch it from 24 minutes on at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00mkd5x/The_Hairy_Bikers_Food_Tour_of_Britain_Kent/
