Beer escalator debate/Falkirk trip

From http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/

Received a reply from my MP concerning this Thursday's debate:

Unable to attend, but at least a prompt reply.

On a brief footy trip to Falkirk on Saturday, there appeared to be 3 main town centre choices in the GBG, but we kind of stumbled in to Behind the Wall - or BTW as it seems to be known. Initial appearances were deceptive - it didn't appear to have any ale when we entered the ground floor, but you have to go through to the back of the pub and up the stairs to what they call the Ale House, where they had a choice of 5 beers on - two Houston (Carl's Beer and their dark German wheat Dunkelweizen), Arran Blonde, Northern Light and the slightly odd-tasting Seven Hills from Sheffield.

Good footy pub with lots of local memorabilia and large screens, although bizarrely, no commentary as music was played. They also run a free bus to and from the Falkirk stadium, which saved us a 2 mile walk - worth at least an extra pint before and after.

There are still signs of the microbrewery there, but, according to the bar staff it's been a long while since anything was brewed - they said it was only used for "special occasions":

The best pint of the weekend award went to the Douglas Arms in Banchory, however - they had Golden Cocker by Gundog of Northumberland (http://www.gundogbrewery.co.uk/) - and it was superb. A quick look at their web site lists one of their other beers as Stag - I wonder if Cairngorm are aware of this?
