Stonehaven etc

From http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/

Spent a week golfing in Dorada-land last week, so no chance of getting a decent pint there. It was a full week between our last real ale on the Friday night at the Granite City just before our flight, and last Saturday afternoon at the Stonehaven Beer Festival.

Having missed the Thursday and Friday evening sessions at Stonehaven, we were concerned that there might be no beer left on Saturday, so we made sure we arrived early - not long after opening at 1 pm. Fortunately, there were still 23 ales on, so it was a very pleasant afternoon.

For those unable to make it along to the festival, this was the full selection on the menu (design copyright RA Jones, Esq):

With daylight hours diminishing, I would have thought there might be a few autumn/winter beers on sale in the local hostelries, but I haven't seen much of anything yet. In fact, Banchory golf club have closed down their handpumps for the winter already. I'll need to encourage them to get a decent selection of bottles in to tide us over until spring.

Only 2 other places visited this week so far - the Learney had (temporarily) run out of beer on Monday, but the Potarch didn't let us down and had a fine pint of Trade Winds.
