Banchory beer news

From http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/

Daffodil from Dale's was the beer of choice at Banchory golf club yesterday - a nice light ale for sitting on the balcony, sunning. It was Macbeth in the dark recesses of the Stag where everyone was watching the Arsenal - Man U match, whilst the Legion had Director's and Bombardier.

Also made another return trip to Scott Skinner's on Friday - palatable Doombar and London Pride, but not in as good a condition as my recent visits - hope they're not slipping back again.

My brother was in Berlin last week and he told me about a pub there called the Berliner Republik (http://www.die-berliner-republik.de/en/), where, every day at 6 pm, the normal prices of beers are ignored and a market system is put in place, based on supply and demand. There's electronic screens, like the Stock Exchange, displaying prices that move up and down constantly. You bid for your beer and what you bid is what you pay, no matter what the price is by the time you get it. A rush of people ordering any one beer puts the price up, and, likewise, prices fall when nobody orders a particular beer. As a novelty, occasionally there's a market crash, followed by the inevitable flood of beer orders!

May is Mild month - haven't spotted any out Deeside yet, but no doubt see some soon.
