HK & Oz

From http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/

Hong Kong seemed to have had a bit of an ale bypass - couldn't find anything decent - in fact, gave up very soon after discovering that the Empire brewpub close to our hotel had closed down 2 years ago.

Just arrived in Sydney this morning and managed a few beers at the Paragon Hotel at Circular Quay - at least they had a selection:

  • Coopers Original Pale Ale
  • Toohey's New
  • VB
  • Cascade
  • Pure Blonde
  • Carlton Draught
  • Resch's Draught
  • Fat Yak Pale Ale
  • Carlsberg
  • Bulmer's Cider
All keg of course, but the Fat Yak was pretty tasty. Decent pub - the only downsides were the St George's flags outside and the signs saying that this was the Barmy Army HQ!:

Probably head to Darling Harbour tonight - although there is word that the Pump House brewpub no longer brews. May detour to the Lord Nelson instead.
