Edinburgh

We spent the weekend in Edinburgh, principally for a Wine Fair, but we managed a few pub trips as well, the first of which was to the Bow Bar, somewhere I'd shamefully neglected in the past. It's basic and traditional, and the food choice is pies or pies, but the beer is good - poured from Edinburgh tall fonts:


Next stop was the Stockbridge Tap with an equally interesting selection:


The Guildford Arms was on our rota as well - quality beers and a good selection too - always reliable.

There was a beer stall at the Wine Fair we attended - DeBrus - not one I'd heard of or seen before. Apparently it's a brewpub in Dunfermline and that's the only place you can drink their beers in cask form, but they're starting to expand their bottled production:


Unfortunately our weekend in Edinburgh coincided with a beer tasting evening at the Quiet Brewery at Buchanan's at Woodend Barn in Banchory, where the fare was:
