Beer 52 etc

From http://iansaleadventures.blogspot.com/

Received a birthday present of a selection of bottled beers through Beer 52 (http://www.beer52.com/):

A handy flavor (sic) wheel was enclosed:

There was also a link to their web site which offered a downloadable document "50 of the Best Microbreweries in the World". Subjective, I know, but it was interesting to see who they had selected (and who supplied them, no doubt). 16 of the breweries were in England, 12 from USA and 10 from Scotland, allied to a couple each from Denmark, New Zealand and Belgium, plus one each from Wales, Sweden, Colombia, Iceland, South Africa and Australia.

I reckon I've tried beers from about 30 of the breweries mentioned, of which the Scottish ones were:
  • Brewdog
  • Innis & Gunn
  • Tempest
  • Harviestoun
  • Fyne Ales
  • Barney's Beer
  • Knop's Beer Company
  • Valhalla
  • West
  • Cairngorm
Windswept Wolf was on in the Douglas on Friday and disappeared in a flash, despite its 6.0% abv. On Saturday, I visited the Grammar FP club in Aberdeen and there were 3 beers on handpump there - London Pride, Landlord and Caledonian 80/-. They also had a trial beer box of Deeside Swift behind the bar and members and guests were invited to try it - for nothing other than a token £1 donation in to the charity box on the bar.
