On a brief weekend visit to Pitlochry at the weekend, I managed to check out a few of the 7 establishments in the town listed in http://whatpub.com/
The Festival Theatre always has an Inveralmond beer on and this time it was Thrappledouser. Next stop was the Old Mill Inn, which advertises its support for the local Dunkeld-based Strathbraan Brewery on a plaque outside the pub:
They had 2 of their ales on - Head East and True North - plus Bitter & Twisted. First time I'd tried the Strathbaan beers - quite liked the Head East.
The Moulin Inn is always a mandatory stop - Moulin Light the lightest and hoppiest of their ales - ideal for mid-day quaffing. The Auld Smiddy is pretty smart inside although it only has the one ale on at this time of year - Ossian.
Didn't have time to check out the Kingfisher Bar, Golf Bar or the Craigvrack Hotel - nor the nearby outlets at Grandtully and Blair Atholl.
Not bad for a town with a stated population of just over 2,500.
