Out for a walk in Ayr yesterday morning, I came across the Ayr Brewing Company, at the side of the Glen Park Hotel:

The Chestnuts Hotel (http://www.chestnutshotel.com/index.php) where we were staying, is a GBG entry that I'd last stayed at 14-15 years ago. I seem to recall that it had 7 or so handpumps then, but only 3 now. The beer was good and there seemed to be a regular bunch of locals drinking it. Yesterday, one of the pumps had changed over to Wylam Bitter, after the Big Lamp Bitter we had been drinking on Friday had run out.
