Merry Christmas everyone! It's been a while since my last post here so I thought a Christmas update was in order before quaffing more beers today.

Microbreweries are getting smaller - the
Quiet Brewery at Buchanan's, Woodend Barn is described as a nano brewery, but one of our favourite coffee stops on cycling trips - Platform 22 in Torphins - has now started brewing as well. Apparently the brewing takes place in the kitchen of the adjoining house - I guess this has to be described as a pico brewery then? I bought the only 3 brews I could get last week. Subsequent trips to acquire others - like pale ale - have been unsuccessful so far, but I'll keep trying. So this is what is on today's agenda:

After a break of almost 40 years I've started home brewing again - just a Cooper's kit of Amber Ale. We'll see how I get on - hope to sample next week. If OK, we'll have some at New Year and then bottle the rest for our return from Oz.
